Privacy and data

What Kuvo Code keeps on your Mac, what it connects to, and what the agent sends to model providers.

Kuvo Code has no account of its own and sends no crash reports. It shares anonymous usage, which you can turn off. Otherwise, what leaves your Mac is what the agent sends to the model providers you choose, and the few connections below.

What’s on your Mac

Kuvo Code keeps its data in ~/Library/Application Support/run.kuvo.code: the engine, your sessions and connected accounts, sessions’ worktrees, pasted attachments, the panel browser’s history, the engine’s settings file and the skills you add, and the usage item’s files. Its settings, including your projects and unsent drafts, are in its preferences (run.kuvo.code). API keys you paste into the usage item are kept in your Keychain. The panel’s browser keeps its own cookies and sign-ins, separate from your other browsers.

What it connects to

  • The npm registry, to download the engine.
  • GitHub, once a day, to check for updates, and when you open a skill collection in Settings › Skills, to list its skills and download the ones you add.
  • models.opencode.ai, for provider logos.
  • analytics.porigam.com.tr, for anonymous usage, unless you turn it off.
  • Your search engine and the sites you or the agent open, in the panel’s browser.
  • The MCP servers and plugins you add, which connect wherever they’re set up to.

Anonymous usage

So it’s known which features get used and whether the agent works for people, Kuvo Code sends anonymous events in small batches: launching and updating it, how long the engine took to start, starting a session (with the provider, model and mode), sending a message, whether a reply finished, failed or was stopped (with the error’s type, not its text), answering a permission, connecting an account, opening a panel tool, committing, and the like. Each batch carries a random ID made for this install, the app and macOS versions, and your Mac’s language. Never your code, prompts, replies, file names, folders or account details, and providers or agents you named yourself go out only as “other” and “custom”. Your IP address isn’t kept.

Turn it off in Settings › General with Share anonymous usage, or with Turn Off on the note shown at first launch. Nothing is sent after that.

What the agent sends

When you send a message, it goes to the provider of the model you picked, with what the agent needs to answer: your attachments, the files it reads, the output of its commands, your review comments and the pages it reads. How the provider handles it is up to its terms.

The usage item

The usage item reads the logins your other AI tools keep on your Mac to ask each provider for your limits, only for the providers you turn on. Spend comes from the usage logs those tools keep on your Mac. Hide From Screen Share hides your usage while your screen is shared.
