Uninstall

Remove Kuvo Box, its VM and everything it added to your Mac.

Kuvo Box keeps everything in a few known places, so removing it completely takes a minute.

Remove the app and its data

  1. Quit Kuvo Box from its menu bar icon or with ⌘ Q. This shuts down the VM and stops your containers.

  2. Delete the app and its files:

    rm -rf /Applications/Kuvo.app
    rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Kuvo
    rm -rf ~/.kuvo
    rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/run.kuvo.app* ~/Library/HTTPStorages/run.kuvo.app
    defaults delete run.kuvo.app

The cache folders hold downloaded updates and Kuvo Box’s network cache.

The Application Support/Kuvo folder holds the VM’s disk, so this also deletes every image, container and volume you had in Kuvo Box. Copy out anything you want to keep first, for example with docker cp or kuvo cp.

Remove the kuvo command

Kuvo Box may have put a kuvo symlink in a folder on your PATH. Remove it if it’s there:

rm -f /opt/homebrew/bin/kuvo /usr/local/bin/kuvo

If Kuvo Box used ~/.kuvo/bin instead, it added two lines to ~/.zprofile (and ~/.bash_profile, if you have one). Open the file and delete them:

# Added by Kuvo Box: the kuvo command-line tool
export PATH="$HOME/.kuvo/bin:$PATH"

Remove your Docker settings

If you added eval "$(kuvo env)" to your shell profile, remove that line. If you created a Docker context, remove it too:

docker context use default
docker context rm kuvo
