# Settings

Find your way around Settings, and set how Kuvo Code looks, notifies you and uses your disk.

Settings open in the main window, in place of your sessions: press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>,</kbd>, or choose **Settings…** in the menu at the bottom of the sidebar. Their pages are grouped in the sidebar; type in the search field above them to find one. Settings has tabs, like your sessions. As in VS Code, a page you open shows in a preview tab, its name in italics, which the next page you open replaces; once you click or type in it, it keeps its tab and the next page gets a new one. <kbd>⌘</kbd>-click a page to open it in a tab of its own right away, and <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>W</kbd> closes one. When there are more tabs than fit, scroll the row of tabs. Click the back arrow at the top, or press <kbd>Esc</kbd>, to go back to your sessions.

## General and appearance

**General** shows or hides the tab bar and sets how two sessions side by side show in it, keeps your Mac from going to sleep on its own while agents work on it (on unless you turn it off; the display can still sleep), chooses the app that code and text files open in (VS Code, Cursor, Zed or another editor you have) and checks for updates. If you use opencode too, **Bring Over…** shows what of your opencode setup isn't in Kuvo Code yet (API keys, model, MCP servers, agents, commands, plugins and skills) and brings it over, replacing nothing; accounts you signed in to there you sign in to again here.

**Appearance** chooses System, Light or Dark, an accent color (macOS's own, one of its colors, or any color), and whether the window is frosted glass or solid. Under **Messages**, set the conversation's text size and typeface (code stays monospaced), and how much of the agent's steps show: each one, summarized in a line between replies, or only how many. A preview shows the result.

## Notifications and privacy

**Notifications** turns session notifications, their sound and the Dock count on or off. **Privacy** turns off anonymous usage; see [Privacy and data](/code/docs/privacy/).

## Storage

**Storage** shows what Kuvo Code keeps on your Mac, by kind, and gets room back: **Clean Up Old Sessions** deletes sessions you haven't used in a while, and you can delete logs and the downloads kept for [machines](/code/docs/machines/). Archived sessions, worktrees and website data each have a page of their own.

## Projects

**Git** sets what sessions' branches start with (`kuvo/` by default), and instructions for the commit messages and pull requests Kuvo Code writes, like a format to follow. **Worktrees** lists sessions' worktrees with their size, and removes one. **Archived Sessions** lists the sessions you archived, by project, to bring back or delete.
